Dreamer 41:
Tour de Quartz‏

Exhibit Opening: Friday, Feb 10th    6-10pm

OKTTreesSBrown-91.jpgDreamer 41 features a selection of artwork created by Oklahoma high school students during the 2011 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain (OSAI).  Dreamer has chosen two guest curators who attended the 2011 Summer Oklahoma Arts Institute; Bo Hubbard of Oklahoma City and Senior at Harding Charter Prep and Kaelea Crowell a Senior at Yukon High School.  Bo Hubbard will oversee the drawing and painting selections and Kaelea Crowell will oversee photography.

McGeehan_Claire_TDQ.jpgDuring their two-week residency at Quartz Mountain, students are immersed in one of nine artistic fields and taught by nationally renowned artists. Former faculty include winners of the Academy, Tony, Emmy and Grammy awards and the Pulitzer Prize. The 2011 drawing and painting students were taught by Richard Hull of Chicago, Illinois. Connie Imboden of Baltimore, Maryland led the photography students.

OKTTreesSBrown-138.jpgThe painting portion of the exhibition represents a variety of projects undertaken by the drawing/painting students during OSAI, including self-portraits, still-lifes, and abstract work. The photography students experimented with lighting and illusion. Some played with shadows and depth of field to disguise or transform the subject, while others conducted underwater shoots with waterproof camera bags.
