My name is Mo Shellist and I live and work in Norman, Oklahoma. My love and passion is my artwork. New Orleans is my hometown and the culture and history of this city have intrigued me since I was a young girl. I spent many weekends in the French Quarter around Jackson Square and was so inspired by the local street artists; I knew I wanted to become an artist. I loved the training I received at the John McCrady Art School in New Orleans.
From pencils, watercolours, acrylics and oils, I accumulated a tremendous amount of knowledge over the years. Taking classes from The Art Institute of Chicago in figure painting helped me to understand the human figure. It is a constant learning experience to be able to do the best I can. The most rewarding feeling I could ever receive is when people get enjoyment from my paintings.
