Joyce Green

Joyce Green is the manager of the GIS Services Division in the Planning and Community Development Department of City of Norman. She has been employed by the city since 1994.  Prior to coming to the City of Norman, she worked for the State of South Carolina’s Budget and Control Board as a GIS Design Analyst. She holds  three degrees in geography; a PhD from the University of Oklahoma, a MS from the University of South Carolina, and a BS from Oklahoma State University.

Joyce began designing and fabricating jewelry using metal smithing techniques when she took a class at the Firehouse Art Center in 2003. She enjoys taking the raw materials and giving them shape and texture to transform them from something mundane to something beautiful.  She works primarily with sterling silver and semiprecious stones, but occasionally will use copper or gold to add detail.
