Every pieceregardless of scalei create is one continuous line. Line is the foundation of all design. It defines and creates context. Provides subjects that emerge with clarity and stand without other obstructing elements or techniques. Abstraction is best when design can sustain being broken down to the most basic elementLine. This is why i enjoy minimalism. If at the most basic level the design is strongly independent, then it can be developed with other techniques and still remain excellent design. The margin of error is minimized and content must evoke at the most basic level.
Whatever I render is in one continuous line, literally once I put pen to paper its not lifted until the subject is captured. It is about the economy of line, trying to maximize descriptive elements with minimum stroke. Abstraction must have a context based from reality otherwise, one cannot abstract. This is why my work is primarily based on what I have seen and studied. I want to be a part of the events that I encounter and be able to react in a hopefilled way. I refuse dark and sarcastic subject matters.
My Choctaw heritage is a vital facet to my life. The Choctaw culture embraces minimalism in its traditional forms and lifestyles. I consider my work an extension of this tradition using modern materials.
